Prime Minister attends evening of Chinese musical performance

PRIME Minister Samuel Hinds, performing the duties of the President, on Friday evening joined other officials and members of the public at the Umana Yana for an evening of music with one of China’s well known orchestras.
Four of the players from the orchestra entertained the audience with their melodious performances. The orchestra is currently hosting performances in Guyana through an exchange programme between the two countries.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Dr Frank Anthony, said Guyana is honoured to host the artistes and spoke of the growing relationship between the two countries.
Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency Yu Wenzhe, expressed appreciation to Minister Anthony and all others who facilitated the group’s presence.
Also present at the event were Guyana’s Ambassador to China, Dr David Dabydeen, and Director of Culture, Dr James Rose.  (GINA)
