Woman charged with cutlass wounding of other

LILY Singh (no address given) pleaded not guilty when she appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on an unlawful wounding charge yesterday.
Particulars of the offence said she unlawfully wounded Lila Khan, to cause her actual bodily harm, on February 8.
Police Corporal Venetta Pindar, prosecuting, said the defendant and virtual complainant are relatives who assaulted each other after an argument.
The prosecutor said Khan struck Singh with a piece of wood on her head and the defendant retaliated by chopping her about the body with a cutlass.
The defendant was granted $30,000 bail until February 17.
