Two killed during rows at the weekend

…police hold several for questioning
LIONEL Bhola, 34, of Strathspey, East Coast of Demerara, died yesterday at the Georgetown Public Hospital from abdominal injuries sustained during an altercation at around 12:15 hrs.
According to an officer at the Vigilance Police Station, Bhola, a carpenter who resided at 93 Strathspey Village, was in Devi’s Sports Bar on the East Coast of Demerara at the time of the incident.
The officer related that during a fight, the victim attempted to intercede and was wounded in the abdomen.
He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The Police rank informed the Guyana Chronicle that several persons have been taken into custody and are assisting with investigations. Meanwhile, police are investigating the murder of Nandalall Williams, 58, of De Kinderen Village on the West Coast of Demerara.
Reports suggest that Williams sustained injuries about his body during an argument with his stepson at 19:30hrs Saturday, after which he was taken to the West Demerara Hospital where he subsequently died.
The dead Labourer’s stepson has been arrested and investigations are continuing.
