IT is quite amusing and eye opening to see the CAL’s officials sudden awareness of the difficulties Guyanese faced traveling. Their promises, plus an apology is unbelievable. It is simply amazing how news of several potential competitors promising better service can change attitudes and bring deserved respect for the cash cow that was the Guyanese travellers. The President was quite right in suggesting that Guyana could be the link to the Brazilian airports and North American and Caribbean destinations. CAL must not be allowed to sell us on a one Caribbean flag ship carrier or stifle competition. Perhaps, CAL is recognising that Guyana offers the best potential for future profit and progress in the Caribbean. It is time for more competition.
