‘Nothing to Laugh About’ returns weekend at NCC

NEXT WEEKEND, ‘Da Bomb’ is set to explode at the National Cultural Centre.
No, not that kind of bomb!
Nothing to Laugh About: IT’S DA BOMB will be presenting its fourth hilarious episode on February 4, 5 and 6.
Those of you who have seen this side-splitting laugh fest will be sure not to miss it this time and those of you who have never been, you need to come out and see what you missed!
Taking the stage will be Lyndon ‘Jumbie’ Jones, who promises to give his take on what goes on behind the scenes at the Brickdam lock-ups, Miranda ‘Queenie’ Austin, Richard Naraine, Clemencio Goddette, Chris Gopaul, Gerard Gilkes, Simone Persaud, Imran Kazim, Leeza Singh, Julia DeCruz, Sir Kirwyn Mars and Shelly Bankcroft.
As always, ‘Nothing to Laugh About’ has the ‘411’ on all those little spicy stories that went down throughout the year, along with hot issues like who dating who man; who cheating pon dem man; who really had the bomb on Stabroek Market; who’s the REAL boss in the GPF; and the Queen of Kings pageant is back.
We ain’t giving away nutten more, but this time around, it suh hot, the fire-truck will be on standby. You’re going to LYAO.
According to the producer, this year’s production is even better than the rest. She knows this because she uses her son, Ryan, as the yardstick by which to measure comedic content, and gauge audience reaction to her scripts.
Eleven-year-old Ryan is blessed with an amazing literary gift, and an over-developed, almost sophisticated sense of humour, and often has family members in stitches at his spontaneous and extremely witty observations.
He also shares a great rapport with his mom; many of the scripts for ‘Nothing to Laugh About’ develop from their everyday impromptu repartee.
Tickets for the shows are going at $800, $1200 and $1500, and can be found at the usual outlets: Giftland OfficeMAX, Matt’s Record Bar, Nigel’s Supermarket, Payless Variety Store, Johnny P Supermarket and the National Cultural Centre.
