Stop the ‘eye pass’

FOR umpteen years now Guyanese have been complaining of the treatment they received by this Trinidad airlines and its employees.
The President and Tourism Minister should stop hinting of Guyana having it’s very own national air carrier and get it done once and for all.
There must be no more talks of connecting flight from Toronto to Trinidad or to Barbados.
Be it Trinidad or Barbados, Guyanese must not endure the hassle meted out to them at both airports.
If government is afraid of illicit drugs being smuggled on a Guyana National Carrier, then all individuals must be checked before boarding that aircraft including airport employees, people who clean the planes, pilots and stewardesses and stewards, maintenance people, baggage handlers etc.
Drugs can only pass once there are connections to those who are employed at the airports.
Like I said before and will again say those that do pat down searches are only performing for those who man cameras. Those that man scanners are only performing for those who man cameras.
All airport employees must be shifted around without prior notice before starting their shifts and none must be allowed cell phones while on duty.
Last July, I was home in Guyana on Caribbean airlines. I was told I would only have a one hour stop in Trinidad which turned out to be two and a half hours.
On my way back I was told I have a two-hour stop over in Trinidad which turned out to be four hours. If that wasn’t bad enough, I had to go through security check in Trinidad again.
What on God’s earth I could have placed on that flight after being thoroughly being checked out in Guyana?
These people in Trinidad are not only out to hassle and harass Guyanese but to embarrass them as well.
There is not even a smoking area in Trinidad while waiting for over fours hours.
I asked a lady if I can go out for a smoke and she told me I might miss my flight.
I never knew Trinidadians were this brilliant that it would take over four hours to smoke a cigarette.
I ask the Government of Guyana to please put a full stop to this madness for peace of mind to all Guyanese who would love to come home direct and hassle free from Trinis and Bajans.
Stop the eye pass and get our very own National Air Carrier.
