EMPLOYEES of Buddy and Sons Automotive Repairs Detail Centre, at Montrose, East Coast Demerara, were, yesterday, able to contain a car fire which started while they were working on the vehicle. It happened shortly after 13:00 hrs when they were trying to cut the front off a crashed automobile that belongs to their employer and accidentally severed the gasolene line.
However, their quick action, by dousing the flames with sand and water, successfully averted any disaster.
But another car in the mechanical workshop and the verandah of the building in which it is housed were scorched, causing minimal damage. (Michel Outridge)
