Convicted perverts must know they have to do their time

BROWSING the contents of the Sexual Offences Act 2010, I must commend the government for pioneering this Bill which is really a ‘no nonsense law’ designed to ensure that paedophiles, rapists and perverts of all kinds face tough penalties for their crimes. The C.N Sharma alleged rape case immediately comes to mind. Under this law, if convicted, Sharma could spend the rest of his life in prison.
This certainly will act as a deterrent to potential perpetrators. These perverts must know that if they do the crime they have to do the time, and it’s really long and hard time the law guarantees them.
We now all have to rally around the law enforcement agencies and the judiciary to ensure that this piece of legislation is effectively implemented if it is to be successful in combating sexual offences.
