We need to be more proactive
BASED on the report on Neesa death Case worker 1 did not report to her superior that Neesa was returned to her mother by grandparents due to insufficient money. That she had problems seeing her for some time, before being told she was no longer being abused. She failed to see any heightened concern when told by Officer 2, that another abuse report was made, except to suggest seeing Neesa in school. There is no justification to not fire this worker or their supervisors involved in this case.

We need to have a clearer picture of what went wrong and how each step of the failed process will be handled. This includes the grandparents’ actions, money paid, police and social worker timely access to the abused, the Personnel Department and other supervisors and failure to discharge their legal duties. Once more we need more proactive public servants and ministers that investigate how things are being done and not only why they were not done after the fact. It is time for all to continue to seek fuller explanations and solutions.
