A COLLISION between a minibus and a motor car, at the junction of Mandela Avenue and Bamboo Drive, Meadow Brook, in Georgetown on Tuesday afternoon, has left a 22-year-old man hospitalised with neck injury.
Leron Griffith, of Lot 28 Atlantic Ville, East Coast Demerara, told the Guyana Chronicle, from his hospital bed, that the driver of the car also suffered injury but a three-year-old child in the back seat escaped unhurt.
Griffith said the mishap occurred around 14:00 h when they were proceeding South along Mandela Avenue. As they approached the junction, the car collided with a route 41 minibus that was travelling west out of Bamboo Drive but no one in the bus was injured.
He said a Seventh-Day Adventist Hospital ambulance, returning from Cheddi Jagan International Airport, stopped and conveyed them to the GPH, where his neck was fitted in a brace, pending a scan to be done.
Meanwhile, 16-year-old Keioma Tulloch, of Lot 3482 North Ruimveldt, one of the 14 persons injured in the Saturday Norton Street fatal accident, which claimed the life of driver Seon Caesar, also in the city, is recovering and was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday.
He was the last of the patients from that accident to be released from the institution after suffering injuries to his head and face.
