Man charged with break-in at judge’s home

THIRTY-SEVEN-YEAR-OLD Keith Harris (no address given) has been charged with committing a burglary at the home of High Court Judge Brassington Reynolds.
Particulars of the offence said it was committed on September 24, when electrical cables valued $8,500 and a $35,000 panel door were stolen from the house.

Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, objected to bail and asked that the Court take into consideration the seriousness of the crime.
Telford said the driver heard a strange noise emanating from the premises when he drove the judge home and the stolen things were, later, discovered missing.
However, the objection was overruled and Harris was granted $100,000 bail until October 18.
