Housing Ministry takes One-Stop-Shop to Anna Catherina

THE Ministry of Housing and Water, in continuing to make home ownership among Guyanese a reality, will be conducting a One-Stop-Shop exercise tomorrow at Boorie Street, Anna Catherina on the West Coast of Demerara. At the One-Stop-Shop, the focus will be on house lots distribution at the recently developed Block MH Scheme which comprises 68 lots.
The scheme has already been equipped with water facilities and roads while electricity supply will be provided in the coming year.
The Government Information Agency said all 68 lots will be allocated during the exercise.
This is the third such event for 2010 executed by the Housing Ministry; the first was held in Region Two on May 21 when 5,000 residents benefited from house lot distribution while the second was dedicated to house lot distribution at Onderneeming Phase Two on the West Bank of Demerara and Section EE Non Pariel, East Coast Demerara.
At that event, Minister of Housing and Water Irfaan Ali said the Ministry aims to provide a “better product of housing” to people and the event is another step towards reaching a target of 17,000 house lots ready for Guyanese.
The Central Housing and Planning Authority has been responsible for supervision of all the necessary roads and infrastructure in the new housing schemes which has saved the Government millions of dollars in investment.
