Nigerian Swami admires President Jagdeo’s ‘transcendental mind’

After leading a spiritual journey over the weekend, Bhakti Vasudeve, Swami of Nigeria, paid a courtesy call on President Bharrat Jagdeo at the Office of the President before departing Guyana.
The leader, who has influenced over 20 African descendent devotees from North America to follow in his footsteps, was accompanied by members of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness during his meeting with the President.
The meeting was considered a special occasion for the Swami who described President Jagdeo as a person with a transcendental mind.
“People who champion causes for ecological harmony and spiritual peace are not people of this planet. They may be standing here and living with us, but their mindsets are completely beyond capacity, so the people of Guyana are very lucky,” Vasudeve Swami said.
On June 26, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness celebrated Ratha Yatra, a popular festival celebrated in June that was highlighted by the rolling of the Ratha-Yatra chariot along the streets of Georgetown, and a special address on peace, ecological harmony and Spiritual Unity by Vasudeve Swami at the Merriman’s Mall.
