Boxers identified for round five

GBBC/GABA ProAm Fights …
THE GUYANA Boxing Board of Control (GBBC) has identified and ensured the boxers for the fifth round of the GBBC/Guyana Amateur Boxing Association (GABA) Friday Night ProAm Fights committed themselves towards same in a contract-signing ceremony yesterday.
It was over in a matter of minutes in the boardroom of the office of the president of the GBBC, Peter Abdool, as the eight pugilists who will be appearing on the professional side of the card inked their names to the respective contracts for their bouts, scheduled to take place on Friday, June 25 at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
Opening the action for boxing fans whose appetite will still be open, following an emphatic showing between Troy Lewis and Iwan Azore on the last ProAm card, along with Seon Bristol’s Bris ‘O’ Promotions ‘Deadly Encounter’, will be Mark Austin who will face former amateur champion Clive Atwell in a lightweight encounter.
Known as the professional punching bag in local boxing, Orlan ‘Pocket Rocket’ Rogers should be looking to redeem himself when he faces Wilmot Hutson, especially after his second humiliating defeat at the hands of Elton ‘Coolie Bully’ Dharry at the ‘Deadly Encounter’.
Mandessa Moses will be looking to maintain her unbeaten record in this segment of local boxing history, when she faces up to Margaret Walcott in a catch weight bout, while Leon ‘The Lion’ Gilkes and Anthony Augustin will culminate the night’s proceedings with their heavyweight clash.
