THE two remaining semi-finalists in the annual Mayor’s Cup knockout competition will be decided today at the Georgetown Football Club ground when quarterfinals action takes place with a double-header card.
Kickoff time is 20:00 h in the feature match that pits BK International Western Tigers against Fruta Conquerors, in an all-Georgetown affair. From 19:00 h in the curtain-raiser Santos oppose Seawall FC in the ongoing Georgetown and West Demerara encounter.
With both winners advancing to the last four, joining Riddim Squad and GDF, football fans and supporters can expect an evening of exciting football and entertaining displays filled with intense rivalry from the four sides, all of whom are confident of emerging victorious.
Dwayne Alli, in tandem with Nedd Fraser, leads the Tigers’ attack which will also be bolstered by midfielder Ryan Williams. Support in the defence will come from Shermon David and Christopher Williams, with custodian Derrick Carter performing duties between the uprights.
Responding for Conquerors will be the upfront combination of Jomo Hinds and Joylon Harry, ably assisted by midfielders Mustapha Haqq and Lester Peters.
