MAYBE because the names attached to the open appeal addressed to the leaders and members of the PPP were found to be fictitious and only appeared in the Kaieteur News of January 01, 2010, it will remain entirely suspicious. But it can be admired for the subtleness in a sinister attempt to create unrest amongst the rank and file membership of the only noble people’s party in the country – the truly-tested People’s Progressive Party (PPP).
The ruse just won’t work; the hard core of the party is ever alert to this kind of tactic and already finds illogical the championing of the Navin Chanderpaul issue and the question must be asked: Who is to benefit from “the scheme to undermine the ranks of the PPP who are loyal to the policies of Dr Jagan?”
It is quite illogical that any group within the party will want to undermine the best interests of their heritage.
It is often the case in good leadership to show intolerance when confronted with incompetence so that for the group to say “we have long been concerned about the lack of tolerance by the president Jagdeo administration,” the answer is clear: “stupidity is na obeah,” as the saying goes.
The season for ‘politicking’ must be upon us, so we need to be on guard for more outlandish sentiments of this nature. The PPP will not buckle to such shenanigans.
