Prosecutor tells court larceny victim is woman molester

CAROL Grant, 31, of Lot 772 ‘C’ Field, South Sophia, Greater Georgetown, was yesterday granted self-bail, on a simple larceny charge, after Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, said the virtual complainant is a molester of women.

The Prosecutor told Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson that Ravi Bhagwandin is in the habit of approaching women and giving them things in return for sex.

The allegation against Grant is that, on December 24, she stole $4,500 from Bhagwandin but she denied it.

Grant said, that Christmas Eve Day, the virtual complainant saw her and was forcing her to go somewhere she did not want to and she ran away from him when she got the opportunity to escape.

She claimed the money she had was hers.

Bhagwandin said he met the defendant in September and really likes her a lot but she only wants his money.

According to him, he ended their relationship but the defendant continues to visit him and, last December 24, after she asked, he gave her cash to purchase a top for herself and something else for him.

But, as soon as he turned away, she fled with the sum, he told the Court, declaring that all he wants is to get it back.

The defendant maintained, though, that, since she met the virtual complainant, two weeks ago, he is always forcing himself on her.
The case was transferred to another Court for January 8.
