I wish to commend the Commissioner of Police, the Police Force and other associated investigative processes in Guyana for their diligent and (so far) successful work in apprehending suspects involved in fire-bombing of the Ministry of Health complex in Brickdam. I also commend them for exposing the ring of politicians and “intellectuals”, both local and overseas, allegedly connected to this crime. As much as I strongly condemn politicians who are determined to obtain power by terror and to preside over ashes; as well as “intellectuals” who, I believe should be more aligned to peaceful rather than primitive and barbaric processes, I wish to express a deep concern for the safety of all suspects apprehended and not apprehended. I particularly express concern for the safety of those currently in custody, those that escaped lawful custody, former chief magistrate, and the intellectuals suspected of involvement in this crime.

I do hope there are special measures in place to protect these persons. I hope that all investigations are exhaustively and successfully completed, and justice is fully served for both the perpetrators and the Guyanese people on whom this dastardly act has been perpetrated.
