Linden vendors paying for services not being rendered

I am an Afro-Guyanese and a People’s Progressive Party/Civic Councillor in the Mayor and Town Council of Linden. The records (Council minutes) will reveal three PPP/C and about 10 People’s National Congress/Reform Councillors as active council members. While there may be other explanations, a number of acts of the IMC in dealing with vendors and others raises questions whether the IMC is not acting in a biased way against Guyanese of other races. I try my best to see only Guyanese.

In my determination to serve the greater good of my community and country I single handedly, most of the time, have to fight with and through the combined hostility of the 10 to have my voice heard. The limited success that I painfully achieve comes from the strength that I draw from those citizens who are being hurt from the uncaring acts of these demigods.

My support comes from our struggling market vendors, paying for services that have never been rendered, residents in the various communities in Linden who were dissatisfied with council’s failure to spend available funds (subvention) to improve the quality of physical and social infrastructure, the employees in every sector over which council has responsibility spend hours with me, unlading their burdens (as unpaid NIS and Union dues as well as their income tax, unfair employment practices etc). There are out-of-control Councillors who often abuse employees who are afraid to seek representation. There are Councillors conducting business with council in clear conflict of interest.

Half of the total mess cannot be told here, hence I invite all fair-minded and development oriented Guyanese to come and see for themselves, especially those with auditing skills and authority.

I have been accused of ‘disruptive behaviour’. I thank my accusers for elevating me into best of company, for my Lord and Saviour was likewise accused.
