Brazilian wounding accused, 16, remanded in Police custody

BRAZILIAN Solomon Barthalmew, 16, was remanded in Police custody yesterday, on three wounding charges.

Before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson, the indictable charges said he, on June 21, at Lethem, Rupununi, unlawfully inflicted grievous bodily harm on Jimmy Glasgow;

unlawfully wounded Orin Hendricks and feloniously wounded Royston Allen, with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm.

Police Inspector Denise Griffith, prosecuting, reported that all the virtual complainants are hospitalised.

The accused said he was drinking when the incidents occurred and cannot recall what happened.

The magistrate ordered that Barthalmew remain in Police detention and transferred the cases to Lethem Court, for September 8.
