TOSHAO of Mainstay/Whyaka Village Council, Ms Yvonne Pearson, is the new President of Essequibo Minibus and Hire Cars Association.

She was elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) yesterday, in the boardroom of the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) at Anna Regina on Essequibo Coast.

Others to serve on the Executive Committee are Vice-President, Mr. Wesley Belle; Secretary, Mr. Frederick Gilbert; Treasurer, Mr. Naithram and Assistant Secretary/Treasurer, Mr. Devindra Bhagwandin.

They are to appoint a Public Relations Officer (PRO).

After her election, Pearson challenged those who voted to become fully financial members.

She pledged to address every issue and concern of the association, which is one of several organisations she leads in Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam).
