CLOUSSEAU

He was the saviour, but by over staying his welcome, he now presides over a state of being moribund and the victim in this case is sadly the noble game of cricket. Quite clearly, emergency treatment must be rendered. Guyana cannot afford to permit what appears to be further deterioration, lying badly brutalized at the bottom of the standing in regional first class cricket. We were consistently humbled and disgraced in this year’s competition; it was a pitiful performance by a team that was completely depleted without any spirit or fight totally demoralised.

The horrific situation did not suddenly come about by some accident. It is a direct result of the worst kind of mal-administration which has become endemic over many years of practiced patrimony with lackeys being placed in critical and sensitive positions of responsibility. A degrading mentality pervades, which for years has been deliberately cultivated by the top man himself.

But the time of reckoning has surely arrived and the distasteful truth cannot be overlooked. The presidency must be changed; Clousseau is satisfied that this is the only option forward.

Not dissimilar, the major political opposition party, the PNCR, has its own internal problems exacerbated by the failing health of its leader and Clousseau must remind this party that as the holder of the position as leader of the opposition and potential executive president of the country, Mr. Robert Corbin’s health cannot be kept a secret. A forthright honest statement on the status of his complaint must be issued. So far, the party has been indulging in semantics not untypical in their quest of being ambiguous.
