REAS Trotman, 19, of Lot 193 Middle Road La Penitence, was yesterday fined $25,000 with the alternative of six months imprisonment for theft.

He pleaded guilty to larceny from the person before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle, admitting that, on April 20, he stole one gold band valued $40,000, property of Wendy Beaton.

The thief said he was sorry for what he did but was frustrated because his brother was recently incarcerated and his mother is sick.
