THE family of Naipaul Maikoo, in Grove Squatting Area, East Bank Demerara, was robbed of G$1.5M, jewels valued another G$1.2M and US$3,000 last Sunday night.

Police reported that three gunmen attacked Maikoo, his wife and son about 21:30 h as they were about to enter their home.

Police said they were taken inside and beaten about their bodies with the firearms while the bandits demanded cash and jewellery, with which they escaped.
