RESIDENTS of Lima Sands Housing Scheme and McNabb village, situated 10 miles West of Anna Regina on Essequibo Coast, are complaining about dog fleas infestation.
The complainants said the creatures are biting feet, especially those of children, in yards and playfields of white sand, which are the ideal breeding grounds for the creatures.
Councillor Doreen Jacobis, who reported the problem at the statutory meeting of the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) earlier this month, was told by Mrs. Juliet Coonjah, Chair of the Health, Sanitation and Environmental Committee, that it is engaging their attention.
Jacobis said spraying was done to get rid of the fleas but they are still present.
