Pomeroon man remanded on illegal gun, ammo charges

ANANT Ram Mangra, 32, of Grant Opposite, Pomeroon River, appeared at Suddie Magistrate’s Court, on Essequibo Coast yesterday, charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition without licences.

Magistrate Faith Mc Gusty remanded him to prison, until March 9, after Police alleged that Mangra had a 12-gauge shotgun and one matching cartridge.

A release said Police were conducting investigations into a larceny report on Wednesday when they made the discovery.
