Ramdin, Pollard return for T&Txs Windwards clash

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC) – West Indies vice-captain Denesh Ramdin and all-rounder Kieron Pollard are two of three changes made to Trinidad & Tobagoxs team for the third round WICB Four-day fixture against the Windward Islands starting on Friday at Guaracara Park. Ramdin and Pollard returned last weekend from New Zealand where they contested the five-match One-Day International series which the regional side lost 2-1.

They will be a boost to the national team which has had a slow start to the first class tournament, with their two opening games against Barbados and Jamaica finishing in stalemates.

Fast bowling all-rounder Navin Stewart has also been called up along with the duo, with wicketkeeper Gibran Mohammed and Imran Khan left out of the 14-man squad.

Rayad Emrit, who played in the opening rounds, has been ruled out for six weeks after breaking his arm during practice at the indoor nets at the Oval last Friday.

Stewart impressed during the Stanford Super Series but was overlooked for the first two games.

Squad: Daren Ganga (captain), Adrian Barath, Lendl Simmons, Darren Bravo, Kieron Pollard, Justin Guillen, Sherwin Ganga, Navin Stewart, Richard Kelly, Dave Mohammed, Amit Jaggernauth, Atiba Alert, Sunil Narine, Denesh Ramdin.
