THE International Cricket Council (ICC) yesterday announced details of umpire and match referee appointments for upcoming ODI and Test series in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and India.
The Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi will be the venue for the three-match ODI series between Pakistan and the West Indies between November 12 and 16 and the series will be overseen by Mike Procter of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees.
It will be Procter’s last assignment as an ICC match referee before he takes over the full-time role of South Africa’s convener of selectors.
The three ODIs will be shared between Steve Davis, Daryl Harper and Mark Benson, all from the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires.
Immediately after the conclusion of the ongoing series against Australia, India will face England in a seven-ODI and two-Test series.
Roshan Mahanama of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees will oversee the ODI series and the first three matches will be officiated by Russell Tiffin of the Emirates International Panel of ICC Umpires along with local Board of Control for Cricket in India appointments. Harper will stand in the last four ODIs along with local appointments.
Mahanama will then hand over to Jeff Crowe, also of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees, for the Ahmedabad and Mumbai Tests which will be umpired by Asad Rauf and Harper, both from the Elite Panel.
Appointments for future matches and series will be announced in due course.
