K.A. Juman-Yassin unopposed as GOA president

THE Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) held its Annual General Meeting on December 30. At the meeting, the audited statement and a report of the activities of the past four years were submitted and adopted by the meeting.

Elections were held and K.A. Juman-Yassin was returned unopposed as president. Noel Adonis, Charles Corbin and Dr Karen Pilgrim were elected vice-presidents at the meeting.

Ivor O’Brien also returned unopposed as secretary-general while Garfield Wiltshire was elected treasurer and Hector Edwards was elected to the post of assistant secretary-treasurer.

Juman-Yassin thanked Terry Holder who was the Returning Officer for performing the duties and also complimented outgoing officers Claude Blackmore and Lee Lam for their support and contributions over the years.

The GOA also announced that its trustees are: Richard B. Fields S.C., Edward Luckhoo S.C., Victor Insanally, Terrence Holder and Paul Chan-A-Sue.
