$10M in name of ISIS

…Man threantens to blow up GBTI, demands cash

A MAN walked into the Regent Street branch of the Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (GBTI) on Tuesday with a note demanding $10M, threatening to detonate a bomb if his request was not granted.

He ended up being arrested by the bank’s security and handed over to the police, who determined that he was apparently of unsound mind and would be subjected to evaluation.

Investigators confiscated from the man a bag containing a sharp object and pieces of paper, one of which had the initials ISIS [Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant] along with other statements.
